The hidden risk of medical device-related pressure ulcers

<p>Pressure ulcers remain a significant and complex health problem in hospitals and community healthcare settings in terms of human suffering, pain, disfigurement, loss of productive time and financial burden. The consequences of pressure ulcers include significant costs, increased infection rates and increased length of hospital stay. Despite this, pressure ulcers are largely preventable.</p>
