Successful reconstruction in a challenging post-sternotomy wound infection

<p>Deep sternal wound infection with sternal osteomyelitis is a troublesome  problem facing both cardiac and plastic surgeons. Cases managed by  multistage reconstruction are not frequently reported. We report a case  of complicated post-sternotomy wound dehiscence that was managed in staged reconstruction together with proper wound bed management and bridging using negative-pressure wound therapy.</p>
