<p>Health care systems worldwide face increasing demands from an aging population coupled with the burden posed by chronic diseases such as diabetes. Qatar is no exception given the health care system has to deal with prevalent diabetes and its complications. Wounds arising from complications of diabetes and injuries from construction projects have been well documented in Qatar and numerous actions are being taken to address these issues. </p>
