<p>This article highlights a paradigm shift in the management of pressure ulcers, usually treated in secondary and tertiary care, leading to large healthcare costs and the risk of acquiring nosocomial infections. The successful management of pressure ulcers in a paraplegic patient, utilising natural honey, outlined in this case study represents an opportunity for low-income countries to combat the morbidity and mortality associated with pressure ulcers. This case study demonstrates the potential use of natural honey as an efficacious treatment for challenging wounds.</p>
