<p>The differential diagnosis for the aetiology of non-healing wounds is vast, but neoplasia is one cause that should be considered so that timely treatment can be given. The two most frequent ulcerating tumours of the skin are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), which may occur anywhere on the body but usually occur on sun-exposed skin. This case report describes a case of SCC arising in an obese woman who had a diabetic foot ulcer that was unresponsive to treatment.</p>
