These injuries are often associated with complex wounds that require intervention by specialist services. The management of chronic wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, surgical site infection, pressure ulcers, venous and arterial leg ulcers, represents a growing burden for patients and healthcare organisations as they have a profound impact on the health and quality of life of patients.</p>
